La première épidémie à l'hôtel Rio Park s'est produite en 1973, quatre touristes sont morts, mais à l'époque, elle n'a pas été reconnue comme la maladie du légionnaire jusqu'à une épidémie subséquente dans le même hôtel en 1977.

Legionella Outbreaks Over the Years
The first outbreak occurred in 1973 in Hotel Rio Park. Four tourists died, but the illness was not known as Legionnaires’ disease until a subsequent outbreak in the same hotel in 1977.
